Major Responsibilities​​

• Implement curricula and plan lessons to provide academic rigor to meet the needs of all students.

• Employ a variety of instructional aids for creative teaching and utilize instructional strategies, which are age-appropriate.

• Give informal and formal assessments that measure student progress and drive instruction.

• Implement and maintain appropriate classroom management.

• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues; foster positive relationships with parents and students.

• Participate in staff orientation and planning meetings prior to the start of summer program. Attend all staff meetings.

• Model and hold students to high expectations regarding both academic achievement and character development within a loving and nurturing environment.

• Represent UCA in a favorable and professional manner and follow the Matthew 18 principle in addressing any relational conflicts with students, parents, and other staff as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

• Minimum of a bachelor degree and prior teaching experience within an elementary or junior high school setting are required. Education degree and teaching license are preferred.

• Additional skills and experience in sports, fine arts, music, and humanities are highly desirable.
