Position Summary
Our summer program combines
academic instruction, social and cultural enrichment, and
opportunities for exploration in and around Chicago.
UCA is seeking experienced teachers for its summer program for
grades kindergarten through early high school. Teaching
opportunities exist for both half and full days.

Major Responsibilities
-
Implement curricula and plan lessons to provide academic rigor to meet the needs of all students.

Employ a variety of instructional aids for creative teaching and utilize instructional strategies, which are age-appropriate.

Give informal and formal assessments that measure student progress and drive instruction.

Implement and maintain appropriate classroom management.
-
Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues; foster positive relationships with parents and students.

Participate in staff orientation and planning meetings prior to the start of summer program. Attend all staff meetings.

Model and hold students to high expectations regarding both academic achievement and character development within a loving and nurturing environment.

Represent UCA in a favorable and professional manner and follow the Matthew 18 principle in addressing any relational conflicts with students, parents, and other staff as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Minimum of a bachelor degree and prior teaching experience within an elementary or junior high school setting are required. Education degree and teaching license are preferred.

Additional skills and experience in sports, fine arts, music, and humanities are highly desirable.
